Ferdinando Fairfax diary, 1792, [microform].

The diary describes two journeys Ferdinando Fairfax made through Virginia from February 28 to March 26, 1792 and from July 14 to September 11, 1792. The diary offers detailed observations about the places where he dined and lodged, the people he met, road and weather conditions, along with his comments and incidental commentary, most notably concerning his health. Fairfax visited many of his peers during the trips and provides descriptions of the various stops, including Fredericksburg, Warm Springs, Staunton, and Monticello.
